Meet Your eLearning Teacher!Hello 4th and 5th grade families! My name is Leslie Dreyer and I will be your eLearning teacher! I moved to Colorado in 2015 after spending years flying out here from Illinois to explore the mountains, visit friends, and spend time with my Godson (who is now a 6th grader). I love to hike and have happily invested a lot of time traveling to mountain towns all across the state. Exploring Colorado led to a deep desire to visit every National Park in our country! I've been to 18 of our National Parks in the last five years. Most of the parks I've been to are in the Western part of the U.S.. Yellowstone and Zion National Park are two of my favorites!

Illinois is also where I started my teaching career. I taught 4th grade for ten years at a school surrounded by cornfields and horse stables! While I was teaching there I discovered a passion for working with gifted and talented students. After earning my Masters Degree in Elementary Reading, I took more college courses and attended several trainings to become a certified GT teacher. I love working to understand the ways GT kiddos think, finding ways to challenge them, and supporting them as they learn more about themselves.
Since moving to Colorado I've taught grades 2-5 and spent two years as a teacher in the Discovery program. I am thrilled to be on yet another adventure in education: eLearning! I can't wait to build a community of individual learners and friends in our virtual classroom. This is a true adventure, as we are facing a lot of unknowns. Are you feeling a bit nervous? It's okay. I am too! But as we travel "into the unknown" together, I can't help but feel excited and enthusiastic about what lies ahead!

"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."
