I do not like airports. I had to visit two airports when my mom took me to Illinois over winter break. There are tons of people pulling these really loud boxes on wheels. Plus, my mom made me stay in this tiny little crate that she carried around. Eventually she let me poke my head out of the top, but I still didn't like being in there. I tried to make a break for it so many times that she had to attach a leash to my collar in there.
Airports are not my friend, but Harley is! He is my mom's parents' dog, so I think that makes him my uncle! He's also a dachshund. Anytime we get together we like to wrestle and take lots of naps! My mom usually dresses us up in some ridiculous outfits to take pictures. This time I threw a fit so she took the outfits off of us right away. She had to settle for putting bows on our heads. Mom - 0, Summit - 1!
The absolute most fun thing we do when we're together is eat meat. Not just any meat. PRIME RIB and FILET MIGNON. My mom isn't usually happy when I manage to get human food, but she lets her dad feed me these tasty treats anytime I visit him. She doesn't know this, but he sneaks me extra meat in the mornings when my mom sleeps in. He is the BEST Grandpa ever.
From the day we met, I knew that Graham was a gentle giant. My mom wasn't so sure, though, so she introduced us slowly and through my crate. Every time my mom put me in my crate, Graham waited impatiently by my side for my mom to take me back out. Any time I was out of my crate, we wrestled! That's still our favorite activity. You might think I'd be outmatched, but Graham makes it a fair fight. He lets me stand on the couch and he sits on the floor. Graham looks a bit like a moose (don't tell him I said that) with his long legs. Sometimes he doesn't know what to do with them so he sits on the couch in all these strange positions. My humans are always giggling when they see how he sits, so they must think it's funny! I have to confess, Graham shares much better than I do. When he had a crate he let me go in there to play all the time. If he tries to stick his head in my crate to sniff around, I run right over there and hop in so he can't. He really is the best big brother I could ask for!
Last weekend was my 2nd birthday! I was hoping to have a "Taco Twosday" birthday party, but it was Saturday and my mom told me I can't have tacos. It turned out to be a fun day anyway! I got a new toy to destroy and my best friend Kaya came over for a puppy playdate! We wore ourselves out chasing each other around the house and wrestling. My big brother Graham kept getting in the way of our wrestling matches. He thinks he's little like us, but he really weighs almost 100 pounds! Charlie wasn't sure about Kaya at first. I think she got nervous that another little dog was moving in. But after awhile she started to play with us too. She got so excited that she started spinning in circles in the living room. I got dizzy just watching her! Later, Kaya and I went to get puppuccinos from Starbucks. As you can see from the picture, she and I have very different styles when it comes to eating this treat. I like to lick the whipped cream and Kaya likes to stick her whole head in the cup! By the end of the day, we were so tired we took a group nap on the couch.
Charlie Bear is my sister. We have a love hate relationship. When I was just a pup it was mostly hate. This might be because I tried my hardest to annoy Charlie every day. I jumped up at her face, chased her tail, and tried playing with her paws even though I knew she hated it. I even ate her peanut butter treat once... She bit me. Now-a-days our relationship is mostly love. We play tug-o-war (one of us has a clear advantage), chase each other around the house, and even cuddle when she lets me! Charlie Bear is one of the goofiest dogs I know. She runs through sprinklers on purpose and even drinks the sprinkler water! She's a silly dog, but she is really filled with a lot of love. She loves her humans and her animal siblings.
Happy National Dog Day to all the pups and people that love pups around the world! Today I got to chase my favorite kid around the creek while he fished for crawdads. He doesn't know this, but I even ate some of his bait (hotdogs) while he wasn't looking! I was pretty bummed that my mom wouldn't let me go in the creek, but at least I don't have to take a bath now!
Today was a very spoiled, sugary, and sunny day! First my mom took me to get a pedicure (really I just got my nails trimmed at the groomer's). Then we went to Starbucks for an iced tea and a pupaccino. My mom drank the iced tea and I had the pupaccino. Pupaccinos are delicious! The barista puts whipped cream in a cup and I get to eat it all up! My mom thinks it's funny to tease me and take the cup away from me before I'm finished (she thinks I make some pretty funny faces when she does this). If I had thumbs I'd grab her iced tea and see how she liked it! To end the day, I laid out in the warm sun and soaked up all of its rays!
Hi! I'm Summit. I'm an almost 2-year-old Dachshund. I'm an energetic, playtime-loving pup! I have a sister named Charlie (white lab) and a brother named Graham (ridgeback). I also have a fish brother named Baby Bronco and a human brother named Kevin. All together we make one pretty awesome pack!
